ABOUT MARIANNE

COMMITMENT

I am eager to continue serving Westwood’s residents on the Select Board.  Every day, I am inspired by the selfless acts of our residents, and those who work for the Town, which make Westwood such a vibrant and safe community in which to live, work and learn. It has been a privilege to contribute to the stewardship of our town on the Select Board and I humbly ask for your vote so that I may continue those efforts.

As 20+ year residents of Westwood, John and I have raised our three children through the Westwood public school system.  During that time, we have been active in a variety of roles and organizations including our schools, PTOs, youth sports, and town boards and committees. I served on Westwood’s Finance and Warrant Commission (“FinCom”) for three terms (9 years), and I chaired FinCom for five years. It was during my tenure on FinCom that I came to fully appreciate, firsthand, the importance of listening and public engagement in our local government, in addition to a comprehensive understanding of all matters which go before Town Meeting - which is Westwood’s Legislature. I then served on Westwood’s Commission on Disability for three years, where I gained a better understanding of the challenges faced by our residents with disabilities, and the ways in which we can better identify and address those needs.

Since May of 2022, I have served on Westwood’s Select Board. My highest priority as a town leader is to protect the Town and its residents by being fiscally responsible with an emphasis on public safety and the inclusion of all residents in our public process. Westwood is often referred to as an affluent town - and I agree that it is by virtue of the time, talent and resources that our residents invest in making Westwood the unique and vibrant community it is.
